II. Physical Properties

1. Solubility: Extremely slightly soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol; soluble in dilute acids and ammonium salt solutions

2. Aqueous Solution Acidity and Alkalinity: Its suspension is weakly alkaline

3. Hygroscopicity: Low moisture absorption, stable in dry environment at normal temperature

4. Thermal Conductivity: Average thermal conductivity, excellent heat insulation and flame retardant performance

III. Chemical Properties

1. Prone to thermal decomposition; decomposes into magnesium oxide and water at high temperatures with heat absorption and flame retardant effects

2. Weak alkalinity with mild alkaline property

3. Capable of neutralization reactions with strong acids

4. Chemically stable at normal temperature
