2. Slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water, and readily soluble in acids

3. Possesses excellent electrical insulation, thermal conductivity and moisture absorption capacity

4. Higher activity corresponds to stronger reactivity and adsorption capacity

2. Reacts slowly with water to produce magnesium hydroxide

Applications:

- Refractory materials: Main raw material for refractory bricks, refractory castables, ramming mixes and refractory mortar, applied to linings of steel furnaces, cement kilns, glass furnaces and heat treatment furnaces for high-temperature and anti-corrosion performance

- Metallurgy industry: Lining and bottom repair materials for steelmaking converters and electric furnaces; desulfurization and furnace protection materials for steelmaking to extend the service life of kilns and furnaces

- Building fireproof materials: Fireproof boards, cores of fire doors and thermal insulation refractory materials with high temperature resistance, flame retardancy and heat insulation properties
