II. Physical Properties

1. Solubility: Extremely slightly soluble in water, practically insoluble in ethanol; soluble in dilute acids and ammonium salt solutions

2. Aqueous Solution Acidity and Alkalinity: Its suspension is weakly alkaline

3. Hygroscopicity: Low moisture absorption, stable under dry conditions at ambient temperature

4. Thermal Conductivity: Moderate thermal conductivity, excellent heat insulation and flame retardancy

III. Chemical Properties

1. Prone to thermal decomposition; decomposes into magnesium oxide and water at high temperatures with heat absorption and flame retardant effects

2. Weak alkalinity with mild alkaline activity

3. Capable of neutralization reactions with strong acids

4. Chemically stable at room temperature

Applications

1. Cables: Insulating sheaths and heat-shrinkable tubes, featuring low smoke, non-toxicity and compliant temperature resistance

2. Rubber and Plastics: Accessories for home appliances, automobiles and photovoltaics, with high filling capacity, flame retardancy and weather resistance

3. Adhesives and Coatings: Fireproof anti-corrosion coatings and sealing potting adhesives, providing barrier reinforcement and salt spray resistance

4. Special Materials: Papermaking fillers and ceramic toughening agents
